Pita Jungle (Pasadena & most cities Arizona)

It's amazing the good eats we find on our travels, it's even more amazing when these good eats follow us home.  (Keep moving west Mellow Mushroom)   Our first Pita Jungle experience was in Flagstaff where we had to stop to put air in our tires.  When it came up on yelp, I wasn't too excited and just had this vision of a hole in the wall pita joint.  Their website, however, has a vegan chart that peaked my interest so we ventured onward.  It also happened to be located next to a New Frontiers natural grocery store, which ups the ante for adventure in my book.

The Pita Jungle in Flagstaff is beyond impressive.  With sleek modern furnishings, streamlined bar & community table to say the least.  I wasn't expecting sit down service at a "pita jungle" I was more expecting a counter in a mall.  While their name could use a change, the service and vegan offerings are beyond compare.

Veggie Garden Wrap $7.99
Zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, squash, carrots, onions, tomatoes, brown rice, mixed beans, ginger, basil and garlic.   (Of course, we hacked it and asked for the veggies to be steamed and not stir fried and no oil in any of it)  It turned out amazing and clearly enough food for two!
We discovered Pita Jungle was an Arizona chain and in nearly every city we  visited and to our surprise when I set out to do this road trip write up I noticed a new location had just opened up in Pasadena!    There are also locations in New Port & San Diego now.
