Where in Los Angeles can you get a baked potato? Is there a healthy item on a single vegan restaurant menu in town that is tasty? We slummed it tonight and called up Houston's in Santa Monica for their $6 Idaho baked potato and $5 of steamed broccoli. $11 of heaven from a total hell hole. Will we do it again? Certainly, at least until a vegan restaurant gets the sense to read The China Study, The McDougall Plan, Engine 2 Diet, etc. Vegan food will be healthy one day when more people turn to veganism for health reasons than animal rights and stop demanding the same disgusting food minus the cruelty.
Ps there was a time when I thought disgusting fake meat vegan food was awesome, I was also overweight and running 6 to 8 miles a day to keep from ballooning back up to my fast food prevegan weight.

I think the steakhouse would love customers like you. The profit margin must be great on such simple items as a baked potato and some steamed broccoli.
With the vast array of vegetables there's little need to turn to fake meats and the like. I'm happy to stick to simple.
