What?? ..Fast Healthy CHIPS & SALSA!!
yep, I can't believe it myself:) Honestly, what I really can't believe is how I've been going to Whole Foods for years and never saw these till now! I suppose it's because I gave up on the chip isle after Guiltless Gourmet chips started using oil. They suddenly when from 1g of fat per severing to 3g...and they still tasted like card board..lol:D
La Reina Baked Tortilla Chips are now the guiltless pleasure. They are seriously soooooo good you wouldn't even know they were healthy! Now as you can see they aren't completely fat free because corn isn't fat free. Actually, there isn't a fuit or veggie on this planet that doesn't have fat in it, so the whole idea of fat free is ridiculous.
110 Calories & 10 Calories from fat = 9% fat , you always have to do the math and keep it under 20% for packaged foods. The 2% reflects the weight, which is meaningless because you can just add water to increase the weight and lower that meaningless % on the label.
Try them out with some Nacho Mom's FAT FREE Vegan Queso!!
La Renia is a Los Angeles based family company...meaning if you're not living in LA you're out of luck:(
Update: The salted version now lists oil. The unsalted as just as good!
Update: These have been discontinued. They were carried in the SoCal Market for 10 years & then Whole Foods pressed to have them shipped nationwide, but did nothing to explain or promote them in their stores so they all expired & they made La Renia pay for all the expired chips. Whole Foods, you never cease to disappoint me.

This is so great! I have been looking for a healthy tortilla chip...sick of making my own in the oven!
they aren't as good as making your own, but do the trick! We just discovered them in the last month ourselves. I doubt I'll ever make my own again, though :)
Great find! My family loves chips and salsa.
I found these at Whole Foods in Scottsdale...I love them! Been buying them for almost two years!
Yeah, Guiltless Gourmet definitely is lousy! I kept eating one after another, not because it was good but because they were so unsatisfactory! I did buy the those other chips, but I haven't opened them yet. I still have the Guiltless Gourment chips and I don't want to waste them--or maybe I will!
I'm still eating guiltless gormets by the bagful... guess it's time to switch it up!!
JNET! guiltless gormets are not part of the healthy vegan diet! You can get fat free tortillas and make your own if you live in a crappy part of the country that doesn't have fat free chips in bags
My local Whole foods doesn't carry La Reina products. :-(
They have oil in them now. Not sure when that happened. :(
The salted ones started having oil, but the unsalted ones are still perfect!
It's great La Reina makes these chips. What isn't great is that they aren't available unless you live in Los Angeles. Too bad there are no alternatives to these healthy chips unless you spend hours in your own kitchen fabricating a similar product. La Reina has missed an opportunity to sell their products to most of the USA. Too bad.
They are available at Whole Foods all across the USA!!!
Found these at Walmart.com
What I'm confused about is how the nutritional info is the exact same (except sodium) on the salted and unsalted. As you said, the salted now has oil, as the package states, but they also have 110 calories and 1 gram of fat, just like the unsalted. Thoughts???
Shelly, we just skip the salted, its not like anyone would eat these w/o salsa, which has enough salt in it already usually so you don't miss it! Nutritional info on packaged foods is not perfectly accurate and the FDA allows companies to round down on fat!
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing! I had no idea there was oil-free salt-free chips out there. I've been making them myself. I'm very excited about this - hopefully I can get them near me. :)
